Service Supervisor - Sound & Lighting

SSE Audio Group has a vacancy for a Service Supervisor at its London offices.
The purpose of this role is to work in the Service department, providing support to our Installation and Hire departments, ensuring all aspects of our business supply an exceptional service to customers.
The role requires the incumbent to work flexibly, in a developing environment. In addition the role may be required to assist, or cover for, other roles within the operation for which full training / support will be given.
Key Responsibilities
- To assess, service and repair sound & lighting equipment from our rental fleet and contract rental installations.
- Liaise with our Redditch service department to effectively utilize shared service resources
- Effectively manage own workloads to ensure all activities are managed to conclusion with anything outstanding is identified and reported along correct channels.
- Undertake a broad range of activities relating to the role while maintaining good working relationships with all key business areas.
- Responsible for safe working practices within the department, including the correct operation of tools and equipment.
- Maintenance of a tidy, efficient and safe work space
- Establish best working practices, record keeping and inventory control.
- Monitoring of stock levels and informing management if they fall below operational levels. Ensuring correct Goods In/Out and Standard SSE Stock Management procedures are followed.
- Identify improvements to performance and processes through Continuous Improvement and working with managers.
Relationship Management
Reporting to the General Manager, but working in close liaison with the Installations Manager, Hire Manager, Warehouse Supervisor and the Head Office service department.
People Management
Assist with the selection, training, coaching and development of team members.
Financial Management
Identify ways to improve cost effectiveness and where appropriate, generate income.
Skills & Experience
- Technical knowledge of professional audio equipment / audio systems (including setting up, installing, operating and servicing)
- Knowledge of lighting and video systems.
- Experience of managing / supervising others would be advantageous
- Good communication skills and customer service skills including telephone manner.
- Willingness and ability to learn quickly
- Competent with the use of computers and ability to use databases.
- Initiative and the ability to work unsupervised, whilst recognising when to ask questions.
- Flexible and adaptable with the ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure – the role is pivotal to the smooth running of the office and dealing with customers.

Warehouse Manager
(Park Royal, London NW10)

Salary: £25,000 - £28,000 dependent on experience
SSE Audio in London, specialists in supply of audio systems to bespoke events in the South East, requires a warehouse manager to oversee all aspects of day to day operations.
You will have a broad experience of audio systems, and be able and willing to transfer this knowledge to our young team of warehouse staff.
You will be self motivated and organized, capable of scheduling equipment preparation, logistics and managing all aspects of stock control.
You will be resourceful, capable of working independently or as part of a team, able to work to deadlines, unafraid of working under pressure, have a positive attitude and welcome new challenges.
Reporting to the General Manager you will work with our service team and our other geographic locations to ensure efficient use of stock and human resources.
Duties will include:
- Oversight of equipment movements
- Timely equipment preparation
- Equipment de-preparation and checking back into available stock
- Delivery & collection logistics.
- Vehicle management
- Warehouse staff management (including sub-contracted staff)
- Oversight of day to day equipment maintenance.
- Supervision of all aspects of Health & Safety within the warehouse.
Skills and Experience
- Broad experience of audio (and AV) systems
- Initiative and capable of presenting innovative solutions to problems
- Flexible and adaptable
- Good administrative skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Forklift (reach) license
- Knowledge of database systems
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office
A clean driving license is essential.
