SSE Hire at Lattitude Festival, 12-15 July 2012.

The main stage - Obelisk Arena
Festival Republic presented this year's Latitude at Henham Park in Suffolk. Headlining were Paul Weller, Elbow and Bon Iver, with a very wide variety of performances across the many stages and areas.
SSE Hire provided an L'Acoustics K1 system for the main stage, together with 2 x Avid VENUE Profile digital mixing consoles at front of house and a Yamaha PM5D on stage.
Latitude also required SSE Hire's smaller inventory of cabinets and bespoke design work to cater for the Waterfront stage and Comedy stage.

Lang Lang on the Waterfront Stage
Over at the Waterfront, subtle coverage is the key. The main system comprises KARA with SB18 subs for the main viewing area, with additonal distributed 8XT, 12XT and 115XT HiQ cabinets providing 270º coverage from the stage. Many of these speakers were hidden in the reeds, so as not to affect the aesthetics of the stage.
The stage itself is built over a lake and has 360º audience viewing. With such a wide viewing area this becomes a really popular arena, especially during performances of Sadlers Wells and the hour-long perforance of world renowned pianist Lang Lang.

The Comedy Stage
The Comedy stage has quickly become a very high profile arena attracting the finest of international stand up comedians. To give perfect vocal intelligibility across the tented arena, SSE used an L'acoustics KIVA system with delays of 12XT and more KIVA.
The results achieved from such a compact system are impressive, making the vocal mics clear and loud even at the furthest end of the 50m x 50m tent. This audio solution also offers enough SPL to handle the several bands that play on this stage as well as an after hours dance/disco.
