30 Seconds to Mars at the O2
As SSE Audio Group approach its 35th anniversary and following on from a record-breaking summer of festivals, the Company's hire business is as busy as ever.
UB40
Throughout October and November, UB40 celebrated their own 30th anniversary (with an ever-present SSE!) by touring intimate venues across the UK and performing their seminal debut album, Signing Off.
Bullet for My Valentine
Welsh rockers Bullet for my Valentine unveiled their first UK Arena tour at Birmingham's NIA in December, with SSE supplying a K1 system. This followed the European leg of their Fever tour, at smaller venues using KUDO.
Robert Plant
The legendary Led Zepplin front man toured the UK in September and October co-inciding with the release of his new album ‘Band Of Joy’.
Example
SSE provided a control package for Example, aka Elliot Greave - the white rapper from Fulham on his UK Tour, sounding even fresher and vital live, with what he calls ‘dysfunctional electro-pop'.
Mark Ronson
Mark Ronson toured UK academies in September and October with a control system from SSE, expanding to a GeoT system at larger venues.
Michael Bolton
Canegreen were on the road once again with US Singer Michael Bolton as he toured the UK at venues including the Royal Albert Hall.
Joe Satriani
American rock guitarist Joe Satriani toured with Canegreen in October using a Meyer Mica system.
Vampire Weekend
For their biggest UK headline tour to date, SSE provided a control system, stepping up to VDSOC for the larger gigs, culminating in two nights at Alexandra Palance at the start of December.
Despite the snow, the group performed to a 10,000 capacity audience at the iconic north London venue on both nights.
Paul Weller
The former Jam frontman is touring the UK and Ireland with a huge arena tour, with Canegreen supplying the sound reinforcement.
Madness
Another classic act is on the road again with SSE Hire, with a huge winter tour that began in Blackpool on November 26th, ending at London's Earls Court on 17th December.
Meatloaf
The Bat Out Of Hell hitmaker hits the road this winter for his Hang Cool Tour of arenas with SSE Hire's K1 system.
Thirty Seconds To Mars
L-Acoustics' K1 is also the system on the road with US Rock band Thirty Seconds to Mars, as they tour UK and European arenas.
You Me at Six
British Rock bank You Me at Six is touring UK theatres through December with a Kudo system.
Manic Street Preachers
The Manics have undertaken a massive world tour in their 20th year, with a few gigs postponed to 2011 because of frontman James Dean Bradfield's acute laryngitis. The UK leg is using a Nexo GeoT system.
Rock with Laughter
This unique Christmas event brings together many of the UK's major stars of music and comedy, staged at Birmingham's LG Arena. Hosted by Lenny Henry, this year's line up inlcudes Beverley Knight, Ed Byrne, Rolf Harris, Alan Carr, Jo Brand, Björn Again, Slade, Adrian Edmondson & The Bad Shepherds.
