SSE's Standardised Packaging
How do you maximise truck space? It’s a key question when you’re in the business of moving many tonnes of rental stock each week. Our unique packaging system was designed to speed up and simplify truck loading.
SSE manufactures all its own cases and racks in-house, giving us a useful competitive advantage when it comes to packaging our hire stock. We manufacture prototypes of each new case before committing to a final design to make sure it really works on the road and is easy and safe to handle.
22u/45" high cases: 2x10u ampracks, 1x tool case, 1x production case - taking the space of 2x 45" and splitting the two.
SSE’s Standards
All cases are designed around standard truck dimensions so that multiple cases will pack with maximum efficiency into the available truck space. Each new case design is carefully planned around the contents it will hold; with a layout that can best accommodate the equipment within our standards for external dimensions.
This seemingly counter-intuitive approach means the equipment fits the case rather than the case being made to fit the equipment. Each "standard" case module is considered as an overall cube, including its wheels. This cube can be split in any plane, or have wheels on any face, but the overall external dimensions must conform to our agreed model.
Packaging Cubes
All our cases have a standard width of 595mm (23.5"), fitting four wide across a truck. A depth of 765mm (30") enables them to be packed three wide. The overall height is variable at 765mm (30") or 1145mm (45") so cases can be packed on their sides, three wide or two wide respectively.

Each of these standard ‘cubes’ can also be sub-divided so two cases are equal to one cube, or a case is a multiple of two cubes. Because our cases are standard depths we design our accessories - stage mains distribution, stageboxes, mic cases - to fit exactly inside larger cases, minimizing wasted space.

Console Cases
All console cases are made 23.5" wide so they conform to the truck pack. The extra space inside the shell allows our Easy Tilt stands and legs to fit inside.

A Perfect Fit
What all this means is that at load out time you can call equipment to the truck by its weight – heavy cases down and the lighter ones go up! There’s no more looking around for that little box which fills the gap to stop something else moving – everything fits perfectly.
