SSE Audio Group has produced a ground-stack support frame for NEXO’s Geo-T tangent line array system, the first of its kind.
The frame was developed specifically for the Morrissey tour (2006). Morrissey production selected NEXO Geo-T as their system of choice but one venue posed a problem, it was not going to be possible to fly the array at Glasgow Academy on the 27th April.
Rather than compromise on the system for one show, SSE came up with a solution that allows the Geo-T to be ground-stacked safely without compromising acoustic quality.
Designed for theatres and Academy-style venues
After a few weeks of extensive testing in our warehouse the first Geo-T support frame was born. The steel frame holds the boxes in place using existing rigging points and allows for a forward tilt of up to -14 degrees by adjusting the swing arm on the bottom cabinet in the array.
So you can create a nice curved array to cover as large a vertical area as possible, without flying the cabinets; perfect for theatres or Academy-style venues.
NEXO’s Geosoft 2 software has the facility to plan your array from a ground-stacked position so your system design is never compromised
Mounting on a Sub bass
The frame can be located on the floor or on top of a CD-18 sub bass cabinet, integrating the sub into the array and optimising it’s performance.
The frame overhangs the edges of a CD-18 and grips it tightly so that the array cannot move on top of the cabinet. Both Geo-T 4805s and 2815s can be stacked using the ground support frame.
We recommend that a maximum of 8 off 4805s or 10 off 2815s be stacked on one frame. It is also possible to stack 4805s and 2815s together, allowing up to 9 cabinets on one frame.
We are able to offer the ground support frame for sale or hire, please email us for more information.
